Brandon Strope began his career with the City of Borger, working for the Police Department in February of 2004 as a patrol officer. In November of 2007, he transferred to criminal investigations, where he served as a detective for seven years. In 2014 he promoted to Lieutenant of Criminal Investigations. He served as the division commander until July of 2016, when he was promoted to Assistant Chief. In addition to the duties of that office, he also served as the Department's Public Information Officer. In April of 2021, Brandon was appointed as Assistant City Manager and began serving in this role on May 10, 2021.
Brandon holds a Bachelor of Public Administration from West Texas A&M University and has obtained his Certified Public Manager certification through Texas Tech University. In addition, Brandon graduated from the Leadership and Command College through Sam Houston State University, is also an FBI Law Enforcement Executive Development Association trilogy recipient, holds a master peace officer license and is a Texas Commission on Law Enforcement certified instructor.
