Fire Prevention & Public Education

We seek to reduce fire losses (i.e., lives and property) from the dangers of fire through fire prevention and education. In order to accomplish our goal, we provide Fire Prevention, Education and perform mitigation efforts throughout the year.

Smoke Alarm Program

If you or your family need assistance installing or simply need smoke alarms, BFD firefighters will provide and install them. If you currently have alarms installed and need them tested to verify operation, please contact us.

  • To qualified residents:
    • Participants in this program must be homeowners in the City of Borger. If you rent your home and it does not have adequate smoke alarms, please contact your property manager.
    • Smoke alarms can be provided to those who are financially unable to purchase them.
    • Installation is available for any resident with a handicap or otherwise unable to install.

CPR- BFD officers Heartsaver CPR and AED training for the public every last Saturday of the month at 9:00 am at the station, 200 N. Cedar. To cover the cost of required supplies, the fee is $25 for a certification card and book. For those who do not need a certification card, the fee is $5 to cover the book. Each class is limited to 10 trainees. Individuals can contact register at BFD@borgertx.gov or contact us at (806) 273-0948.

  • For larger or private classes, please contact us at BFD@borgertx.gov. 

Fire Extinguisher- BFD can provide fire extinguisher training to companies and industry. Contact the BFD for scheduling BFD@borgertx.gov. 

Station Tours- are available for the public, Scout troops, daycare, school classes, etc.
